Vitamin B12 is essential for growth, cell reproduction, hematopoiesis, nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis.
Latex free
Each mL contains: Cyanocobalamin 1000 mcg, Sodium Acetate 0.5 mg, Glacial Acetic Acid 0.1 mg, Sodium Chloride 9 mg with Benzyl Alcohol 1.5% as preservative in Water for Injection q.s. Sodium Hydroxide and/or Hydrochloric Acid may have been used to adjust pH. Multiple dose vials of 10 mL and 30 mL.
Dosage in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency is 100 mcg daily for 5 to 10 days followed by 100 mcg monthly injected i.m. or deep s.c. Folic acid should be administered concomitantly early in the treatment unless folic acid concentrations are adequate.
