Children’s Tylenol and Children’s Advil (acetaminophen and ibuprofen suspensions) are in short supply. With cold and flu season upon us, parents are scouring social media and calling in favours to try to get their hands on a bottle of children’s pain and fever relief medication.
Where and when these children’s pain and fever relief medications are available, retailers are placing strict limits on how much people can buy to avoid hoarding or reselling.
Mednow doesn’t have any more access to children’s pain and fever relief medication than any other pharmacy. What we do have is pharmacists who are ready and willing to help.
Get children's pain and fever relief medication
Mednow is able to offer non-branded children's pain and fever relief medications, the equivalent to a Children's Tylenol or Children's Advil, as compounded medications.
Compounding means mixing the active ingredients in the medication (acetaminophen in Children’s Tylenol or the generic equivalent, ibuprofen in Children’s Advil or the generic equivalent) in precise amounts and placing them in a suspension. Basically, it's our version of Children’s Tylenol or Children’s Advil.
These children’s pain and fever relief suspensions are available without a prescription. However, you will need to speak to a Mednow pharmacist who can provide you with the correct dosage for your child as well as instructions on how and when to administer the medication.
You can speak to a Mednow pharmacist through the Mednow app (Apple | Android | web browser).
With a shelf life of 180 days (six months), one bottle should see most families with young kids through cold and flu season. To discourage stockpiling, there is a limit of two bottles per order.
